The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association of Ontario (AMEAO) is very pleased to offer the Aviation & Aerospace Workforce Development (AAWD) Program (April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026), as part of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skill Development (MLITSD) Skills Development Fund Training Stream (SDF TS).

While the target focus is on Indigenous peoples, the program will be made available to all underrepresented groups including Women, Youth, New-Comers, people with visible disabilities and those at risk in collaboration with Industry, Industry Organizations, Indigenous & Diverse Organizations and Unions.

AAWD will provide opportunities to 1,677 participants. The project will comprise of 4 main components:

1) Develop and deliver industry defined new entrant accelerated onboarding and skills development to train 90 participants in Aircraft Maintenance and Aerospace Manufacturing;
2) Provide industry upskilling to 75 participants;
3) Assist 12 Indigenous Community Member participants with the establishment of a sustainable post project business model and business enterprise within the Aviation & Aerospace supply chain;
4) Conduct youth outreach and engagement events to 1,500 participants.
